Over the years I have been blogging and undertaking consultancy work, I’ve had the privilege of being able meet people involved in the Swedish Skogsmulle approach and undergo Skogsmulle training. Back in 2008, when I undertook a Churchill Travelling Fellowship, I spent 2 weeks in Sweden visiting outdoor nurseries and primary schools. The reports about this can be downloaded here. In particular, the Swedish Forest Schools report is a useful summary of the Skogsmulle approach.

This summer, Siw Linde, one of the founders of the first I Ur och Skur “Rain or Shine” outdoor nurseries is visiting the UK with 2 other Skogsmulle leaders and offering training in Wales (contact Cyfleon) and Manchester (fully booked). They will be in Aberdeen for a day and the local Outdoor & Woodland Learning North-East Group  have organised a super day which costs just £30 to attend.

Please come along if you can. You need to download a booking form and return it to Julia Mackay. I look forward to seeing you there! Any questions, please get in touch. The day is ideal for anyone who works with children under the age of 6.

For more information about Skogsmulle, this remarkable little fantasy character who has facilitated many Swedish people’s love and enjoyment of nature at a very young age, please have a look at these blog posts.

Are you going to be running the Outdoor Learning from Sweden course in 2016? It looked great!
