Creative STAR on Facebook

After a year of dilly-dallying, I finally decided to take the plunge and set up a Facebook page for Creative STAR.

For a long time I wasn’t quite sure what the benefits would be to people who were kind enough to sign up. However, within 2 days of announcing to some of my friends that it’s up and running, I’ve seen its potential.

Firstly, anyone can post information on the page. Two super links to Play England’s Manifesto for Play and the iSpot Nature website have been flagged up by people who’ve popped by the page. It’s interactive!

Next, I can post up photos with accompanying information. For a while now, I’ve felt that this would be helpful and handy to visitors. This was actually inspired by Teacher Tom’s blog where he was discussing sand pits. Thanks, Tom!

Finally, all the open events that Creative STAR are running, involved with or generally want to flag up are posted. Suddenly people will be able to see what they can join in!

All-in-all it’s a great addition to a blog and a formal website. Please do visit, stop by and say hello.

I’m going to “Fan” you and keep tabs. People keep telling me I should have a fan page too, but it looks like work. I have enough of that!

I think this is what always put me off… How many social sites and online activity can I feasibly manage?

I will experiment and see what happens. It would be very easy and take no time for your to set up a page and just have the feed arriving from your blog directly there. You probably wouldn’t need to do much more than that.

Unless you wanted to conquer cyberspace of course!
