Post image for Happy Birthday Website

This new website is one year old today. It was the merging of my old Blogger “I’m a teacher, get me OUTSIDE here!” blog with my formal Creative STAR Learning website. I’m extremely grateful to Karen Wilde of Wildely Creative for her tireless work doing this and for her behind the scenes work this past year. It’s been much easier having the two sites together even if I have yet to fathom everything out.

So being a bit of a number geek, I’m going to have to give you the low down from the past year. Humour me or leave the post right now…

The Stats According to Google Analytics:

Number of visitors: 163,435

Number of page views: 495,234

Top city for visits: London (9%) – Thank you Londoners!

The other top 3 cities were: Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen – Thank you Scotland!

International visitors: Sydney, Melbourne were ranked 7th & 8th respectively. Australians are amazing visitors with Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth also in my top 30 cities. Thank you Australia!

The only North American city to make this was Toronto (28th) – Thank you Canada!

Quirkiest result: 99 visits from Guernsey. One person or several? I’ve no idea, but thank you for being the best small island.

Most visited page: Maths Outdoors (12%)

All the pages which have their own little icon were visited over the ones which don’t. Most of my hits (39%) came through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. This was followed closely by organic searches (35%) and then direct visits (14%).

Top 5 blog posts:

My favourite 5 blog posts from this past year:

Many, many thanks to all of you for visiting and supporting this website. Have a wonderful summer and I hope you get out and about 🙂

Thanks Liz – It’s nice to know that others outwith the bright lights of big cities are also finding the blog helpful.

What people will miss in all those statistics is your generous soul for all you give and give back to your communities—local, national and international. Congrats on the one-year. Tom

Thanks Tom

I would love to blush and say I’m a selfless being dedicated to my readers. The blog I have to confess is a selfish gesture – it’s my own personal portal to online resources about learning and play outdoors. It just happens to be an open portal! LOL! It also helps me reflect and make sense of what I’m learning about learning outdoors.
