This blog post is written by Lesley McLaren who works behind the scenes at Creative STAR. Thanks Lesley! She also took all the photos 🙂 …
I was kindly given these little guys to have an experiment with, and who best to try them out than my son, ‘Little Man’. Being mirrored they can easily be hidden amongst most things, so for this activity I chose to place them around my garden for a game of hide and seek. The garden doesn’t have many shrubs or hidey holes so I didn’t expect the seeking part to take that long a time.
I started off with an easy one first…can you spot it in the water wall below?
Then the men got a little harder to find….
…and even harder…
To get LM interested in looking around the garden, I created a warning letter:
The challenge was accepted and the hunt was on!
He was off!
Looking under, over and in all the nooks and crannies…
… and chuffed to pieces when he found one!
After a while of going round the garden (which isn’t very big) we now moved onto the ‘am I hot or cold’ method, cue: the excitement and laughs.
The last one proved to be the toughest to find and the real master of disguise
(clue – look at the fence beside the rose).
But he was eventually found.
All the aliens were now captured.
This game would be great with a few children in a wilder setting with more places to hide. LM thoroughly enjoyed himself and the proof was in: “Can we do it again?”
Hi
It is possible to buy or make the mirror men?
Best wishes
Eileen
